Steven Bedingham

I was born and brought up in York and educated at St George’s Secondary School, the Brothers school there. I was then further educated by the brothers St Cassian’s College in Berkshire before doing A Levels in Cambridge. I did my teacher training at De La Salle College, Manchester before joining St Johns in 1978.

In the course of my career, I taught (at various times), History, Geography, Religious Studies, Music and English as an Additional Language. When not teaching, I was a boarding housemaster and ( again at various times ) directed the Chapel Choir and the School Orchestra, together with the Chapel Band.

I was, very briefly, both Head of History and Head of Boarding and served as the Teacher Governor in the 1980’s and when not doing any of the above, was driving the school coaches ( ! ) to fixtures, boarding outings, school camps etc.
